Assignment/Intro

On an early October morning I raced to the buses that lined the road just outside Kresge Art Center to join my fellow art students on an adventure to the Windy City, Chicago. Although this trip was filled with the opportunity to explore one of America’s great cities, I had some requirements to complete for my STA 112 class.

Here is the address to my STA 112 class blog: http://studioart112.wordpress.com/I was told to document my day through photographs, sketches, scribbles, questions, and observations in my little black spiral. You can find these such things in the tabs located atop this blog.

I was also given a list of venues required to visit: 2 museums, 1 public art work, 5 galleries, and 1 art or fabric store. I fulfilled the museum requirements by venturing around the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Cultural Center. I spent some time weaving in and out of people in Millennium Park which fits in the public arts category. I went to the Atlas, Richard Gray, Valerie Carberry, KM, and Sternbere Galleries. And last but not least I visited Utrecht art supply store.
